About Us

Our story

West Coast Steiner School was officially established in 1995 by a group of parents with a shared belief in the Steiner philosophy, who were passionate about their children experiencing a truly holistic education. The school has flourished over the past thirty years and is now an independent, co-educational, non-denominational school offering a complete and authentic Steiner education. West Coast Steiner School is a fully accredited and registered educational institution and is a proud member of Steiner Education Australia (SEA) and the Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia (AISWA).

Our values

The values that guide and define us at West Coast Steiner School are Goodness, Beauty and Truth.

Goodness, Beauty, and Truth are the foundational, developmental pillars of Steiner Education, designed to cultivate the head, heart, and hands of students at specific stages of development.

These principles are not merely abstract concepts or marketing tools but are woven into the curriculum to nourish each child's soul and prepare them for a purposeful life. This manifests at WCSS by:

Goodness (action): Nurturing the child's will.

Beauty (feeling): Nurturing the child's emotions and artistic sense.

Truth (thinking): Nurturing the child's intellect.

Together, these values create individuals who are creative, flexible, and responsible global citizens.

Our vision

Working from the indications of Rudolf Steiner, we strive to educate the whole being of each child in head, heart, and hands. We envision this holistic education set within a community guided by goodness, beauty, and truth. Further, we seek to plant the seeds for our students to enter the changing world with purpose, as self-directed adults, with a lifelong love of learning, who are intellectually and spiritually free, socially responsible, and emotionally balanced.
