Strength in Community

West Coast Steiner School has a strong school community which is diverse and welcoming. There are many ways to be involved including busy bees, craft group, sustainability group and events planning. Shop for school supplies, meet others in our community and share a cuppa at our Community Hub.

WCSS Community Association

An association committed to supporting our school
WCSSCA is a body of parents, teachers, staff and friends of West Coast Steiner School. The aim of the Association is to promote and support the development of the school and its community by:
  • Actively fundraising to provide for equipment and services beyond the means otherwise available to the school.
  • Initiating and coordinating social events to foster a spirit of community.
  • Increasing the awareness and understanding of Rudolf Steiner’s philosophies among members and the wider community.
  • Undertaking activities aimed at building and improving the image of the school in the wider community.
  • Coordinating the volunteer efforts of members in the physical improvement and maintenance of the school’s premises.
  • Nurturing our school’s community of parents.

Operations & activities

WCSSCA volunteers coordinate a number of ongoing and one-off activities and endeavours throughout the year. These include the running of our school community shop Golden Threads, coordinating a Parent Craft Group and catering coordination for events and school tours.



WCSSCA meets monthly and all members are welcome to attend and contribute. Dates for meetings are found in the school newsletter, website calendar and on the Golden Threads Facebook page.

Golden Threads

Our school shop.

Golden Threads is located within the Community Hub, opposite the school office. The shop offers a wonderful range of Steiner inspired products, and is a great place to purchase presents, school supplies, and coffee! Golden Threads is run by parent volunteers — if you would like to volunteer please speak with Ayla at the shop or email goldenthreadsperth@gmail.com.
