West Coast Steiner School is committed to being a Child Safe Organisation taking a preventative and participatory stance on child protection issues and promoting a child safe environment.
Our School Community
Strength in Community
WCSS has one of the strongest parent communities of any school in Perth’s northern suburbs. Our families are diverse, welcoming and actively involved – through busy bees, craft groups, sustainability initiatives, events planning, and our parent-run Community Hub. It’s one of the first things new families notice when they visit.
WCSSCA – Our Parent Community Association
An association committed to supporting our school
WCSSCA is the parent body of West Coast Steiner School – a coalition of parents, teachers, staff and friends who work to strengthen the school and its community. WCSSCA:
- Fundraises to provide equipment and services beyond standard school funding.
- Initiates and coordinates social events that build community.
- Grows wider awareness of Steiner education and Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy.
- Coordinates volunteer efforts for the upkeep and improvement of the school grounds.
- Nurtures the parent community at WCSS.
What WCSSCA Does Through the Year
WCSSCA volunteers coordinate ongoing and one-off activities across the school year. These include running our school shop Golden Threads, coordinating a Parent Craft Group, and catering for events and school tours.
WCSSCA meets monthly. All members are welcome to attend and contribute. Meeting dates are in the school newsletter, the website calendar and on the Golden Threads Facebook page.
Join the team
We’re always looking for parents and friends to join WCSSCA and help strengthen the WCSS community further. If you have a heart for holistic education and a strong sense of community spirit, we’d love to hear from you. Email us at wcssca@wcss.wa.edu.au.
Golden Threads – Our School Shop
Steiner-inspired gifts, school supplies, coffee, and a place to meet other WCSS parents.
Golden Threads sits inside the Community Hub, opposite the school office. It’s run entirely by parent volunteers, and stocks a beautiful range of Steiner-inspired products – great for presents, end-of-year teacher gifts, school supplies, or simply a coffee while you wait at pick-up. If you’d like to volunteer, speak with Ayla at the shop or email goldenthreadsperth@gmail.com.
